1. Create selection fields faster with Datasources

📌 Introduction

Forget about manually entering all the options for your single or multiple selection fields. With Datasources, you can automate this process and speed up form creation.

🚀 Benefits

✔ Save time when setting up your forms.
✔ Easily manage long lists of options for your selection fields.
✔ Keep your data organized and reusable.

🛠 Step-by-step: How to create a Datasource

1️⃣ Access the Datasources: Click on the "Datasources" tab in the left navigation bar.
2️⃣ Create a new source: Click on "+ Create new" at the top of the page.
3️⃣ Name your source: This will help you identify and reuse it later.
4️⃣ Choose the type of source: You can select spreadsheet or custom list.
5️⃣ Add the data:

  • Spreadsheet: Upload a file with the options.

  • Custom list: Type the values manually.

🧩 How to apply the Datasource to a selection field

1️⃣ Add a selection field to the form editor (single or multiple).
2️⃣ Link the datasource: Select "Datasource", choose the one you need, and click "Use".
3️⃣ Select the column (if there are multiple). Done! The values will automatically appear as selection options in your mobile form.

2. Dependent fields: Auto-fill fields

📌 Introduction

Imagine you have a multiple selection field asking you to choose a specific bank branch. In the next field, you're asked to write the address of that branch. Wouldn't it be easier if the address appeared automatically when you select the branch?

With dependent fields, you can auto-fill related data, saving time and reducing errors in data entry.

🚀 Benefits

✔ Automate data entry.
✔ Minimize errors when entering information.
✔ Speed up the data collection process.

🛠 How to link data in your form

1️⃣ Prepare the datasource

  • Use a spreadsheet with the data in different columns.

  • Example: Column A contains branch names, and column B contains the addresses.

2️⃣ Set up the dependent field

  • In the form editor, add a single or multiple selection field.

  • Click on "Field Rules" and select "Linear".

  • Link the key column from the datasource to the selection field.

  • Add an output field, choose its type (selection or readable text), and select the column you want to relate.

  • Click "Done". Your form is ready!

📱 How does it look in the app?

1️⃣ Open the form and select an option from the selection field.
2️⃣ Automatically, the output field will be filled with the related data (for example, the branch address).
3️⃣ If you don’t want this value to be editable, enable the "Lock entry" option in the form settings.

3. Conditional fields: Create dynamic forms

📌 Introduction

Want to show or hide fields based on previous answers? Here's how to make your forms more dynamic using conditional fields.

🚀 Benefits

Improves user experience by only showing relevant fields.
Saves time by displaying questions only when needed.
✔ Collects data efficiently and without confusion.

🛠 How to create conditional fields

1️⃣ Access the field rules
In the field that should appear or disappear, click on "Field Rules".

2️⃣ Set up the conditions
In the top bar, select "Field Conditions".

3️⃣ Choose the action
Select whether you want the field to show or hide.

4️⃣ Select the trigger field
Choose the field that will activate or deactivate the conditional field. Remember, it must be above the conditional field in the form to be selectable.

5️⃣ Set the input type
Choose the input (response) type that will trigger the action, depending on the selected field type.

6️⃣ Finalize
Click "Done". Your conditional field is now set up.

📱 How does it look in the app?

1️⃣ Open the form and enter the corresponding value in the trigger field.

2️⃣ Automatically, the conditional field will appear or disappear based on the entered value.

🔹 Extra Tip: Conditional fields are perfect for long or complex forms, allowing the user to see only relevant questions. Make your form more interactive and easier to complete!
